FAQ

Asked at the gate, answered here.

Are the lights still working?

Wickstone Head, Skerrow Point, Lantern Deep and Cape Perrin carry active navigational lights maintained by the fictional coast authority. The trust cares for the towers and buildings around them.

Can I climb Wickstone Head?

Yes, April through October, on guided climbs run by trust volunteers. The spiral has 97 steps and a strict eight-people-per-hour limit.

Can I get married at a lighthouse?

The grounds at Cape Perrin and Old Halloway can be reserved for small ceremonies through the visits office. The lantern rooms themselves are working spaces and stay off-limits.

How is the trust funded?

Memberships, admissions, a small fictional grant from the Meridian Coast heritage board, and the shop at Skerrow Point. No light is ever sold or leased.

Do you take volunteers?

Always. Maintenance weekends run November through March, when visitor traffic drops and the painting gets done.

Is the fog signal real?

Cape Perrin's diaphone is restored and sounds once a year on the anniversary of the Perrin grounding. Every other day it stays quiet.
